Here is the story of my families life the last 120 years. My grandparents on my mother's side grew up in Finland during the civil war, 1917, which caused great tragedy to their families. The experiences that they had led them to work for social and economic justice for the people in Kuusankoski. When my mother grew up, her father had the town's welfare department in their kitchen. In the late eighteen hundreds, many Swedes immigrated to the USA to create a better life. Both my paternal grandfather and grandmother immigrated to the USA and met there. My father was born in Decora, Iowa. To read my father, Earl's family story, click here.
